Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
Purrbyte is built to know as little about you as possible. This page explains what little we do collect, why, and what we never touch.
What we collect
- Account data. If you create an account: your email address and a hashed password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google). We use it to sign you in and to link your purchase to you.
- Cat data. If you sign in, your cat's name, colors, level and skills are synced to our servers so the cat can follow you between computers.
- Purchase status. Whether your account has a valid license. Payments themselves are processed by our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy) — we never see your card details.
What we don't collect
- No keystrokes, no screen contents, no clipboard, no browsing history. The app requests zero macOS permissions.
- No ads, no trackers, no selling or sharing data with third parties for marketing.
- Using Purrbyte without an account keeps everything on your computer — nothing is sent anywhere.
AI agent hooks (optional)
If you enable "React to AI agents", Purrbyte adds small hooks to the local configuration of Claude Code / Cursor / Antigravity on your computer. These hooks write a status flag ("thinking" / "done") to a local file so the cat can react. This data never leaves your computer, and turning the option off removes the hooks.
Where data lives
Account and cat data are stored with Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). Transactional emails (confirmation codes) are delivered via Resend. Downloads and updates are served from GitHub.
Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your account and everything linked to it at any time — email support@purrbyte.app and we'll take care of it. Deleting the app from your Mac removes all local data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll note it here with a new date. Questions — support@purrbyte.app.
